Murray Gunner (1918 - 2017)

It is with sadness that JCY-Westchester Community Partners, a Division of the Family Service Society of Yonkers, formerly The Jewish Council of Yonkers, notes the passing of it longtime Executive Director. Murray Gunner. Murray led The Jewish Council of Yonkers with distinction from 1989 to 2006, retiring from his professional work at the age of 88. He was honored for his years of services at a dinner in 2007. He was and friend and mentor to many throughout his long career as a social worker and community organizer from 1940-2006. We, his family and friends, were profoundly blessed, strengthened and enriched by having Murray in our lives and will miss him very much.

The family of Murray Gunner has graciously agreed that donations in Murray’s memory be granted to The JCY- Westchester Community Partners. A special fund has been set up to accept these donations. The JCY-Westchester Community Partners honors his commitment to a connected, inclusive and compassionate civil society, and is committed to continuing his good works in our community

Donations may be made to a JCY-Westchester Community Partners, 30 South Broadway, 5th Floor, Yonkers, NY 10007 in remembrance of Murray's lifetime commitment to a connected, inclusive and compassionate civil society.
